FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you receive money from lenders?

No lender pays us, and we do not earn anything when a reader borrows. That independence is the reason we can write about loans neutrally.

Is it better to borrow over a shorter or longer period?

A shorter period means larger payments and usually a smaller total cost, while a longer period reverses that. The right balance depends on what you can sustain every month.

What documents will a lender usually ask for?

Commonly they request proof of identity, proof of address and evidence of income, such as payslips or statements. Requirements differ, so confirm the list with the lender.

Why might my rate differ from the advertised one?

Advertised rates are often available only to a share of applicants. The rate you are offered reflects how the lender assesses your own circumstances.

Can I cancel a loan after signing?

Possibly, if a cooling-off right applies where you live. Check your agreement and your national rules straight away, since time limits can be short.

Check the inputs and conditions behind an estimate before treating it as a written offer.
